The reality of modern work
We all know the feeling: too many tabs open, too many apps running, too much information scattered everywhere. Emails here, reports there, Slack threads you'll never find again. We collect more data than any generation before us, but most of it never gets used.
It's not because the data isn't valuable. It's because the tools we've been given were never designed to keep up. They help us store, automate, and search. But they don't actually understand the work.
A quick look back
Every era of work has created its own tools. The typewriter made writing easier to read. Filing cabinets gave offices a memory. Early computers could crunch numbers faster than anyone thought possible.
Each of these tools pushed productivity forward. But the big dream, that machines could truly partner with us and amplify our ideas and decisions, never fully came to life.
Where we are now
Fast forward to today. We've got powerful digital tools, but most of them are still shallow. They answer questions without context. They automate tasks without knowing why they matter. So we end up juggling apps, copy-pasting across tabs, and spending more time managing the mess than making real progress.

Our first step is Douglass, an AI insight engine that turns scattered information into clear, actionable understanding. But that's only the beginning.
